A lovely opening day at Annupuri Resort!
Niseko United is officially open for the 2019-20 winter season! Annupuri Resort opened up the Dream Quad lift at its base to the public on Saturday, November 23rd. It was a beautifully clear and sunny November day with almost no wind. A very comfortable temperature just above freezing made for a very pleasant first day on the slopes.
Local children were taking laps on the run, practicing their turns and techniques for ski racing. Snowboarders were finding small bumps to jump off and enjoying the feeling of sliding on snow once again! The Dream Quad lift at Annupuri was open on the weekend, but will close on Monday, November 25th due to warm weather and snowmelt. Please check our social media for an update on when the lift will open again.
Originally, Niseko Grand Hirafu Resort was planning on opening their lifts on November 23rd as well but decided to postpone opening due to unfavorable snow conditions higher up on the mountain. Grand Hirafu will wait to see snow conditions improve before opening. Please check either Niseko United’s Instagram or Facebook for the quickest updates on Grand Hirafu’s opening day announcement.
Niseko Village is scheduled to open on December 1st, while Hanazono is planning on spinning its first ski lifts on December 7th. The opening days for both Niseko Village and Hanazono are dependent upon snow conditions, so please refer to Niseko United’s social media for the latest information as the opening days become near.
It’s wonderful to see the first lifts at Niseko United running on the scheduled opening day! More resorts and terrain will continue to open as the snow falls, so be sure to check back on our website or social media for the latest updates. See you on the slopes!
