The Most Instagrammable Spots in Niseko United and Beyond

March, 25th 2025

With warmer temperatures, sunnier days, and fewer crowds on the slopes and around town, it’s the perfect time for both casual phone photographers and professionals to get out and capture the natural beauty, iconic landmarks, and stunning views of Niseko. Here are some of our top picks, both on and off the slopes:

Hanazono’s Lucky Bells

Located at the base of Hanazono, near the 308 building, this iconic landmark invites you to ring the bells for good fortune, pray for fresh powder, or strike a pose at one of Hanazono’s most recognisable spots.

Mount Yotei

Often referred to as “Ezo Fuji” due to its resemblance to Mount Fuji, Mount Yōtei is the iconic volcano that dominates the Niseko landscape, providing a breath-taking backdrop across Niseko United. Some of the best spots on the slopes to capture a stunning shot include the base of King Lift #4 in Grand Hirafu, the top of Hana #3 in Hanazono, the top of the Niseko Village Gondola, and the new Ace Gondola in Grand Hirafu.

Lawson in Hirafu

The Lawson Convenience Store in Hirafu might be the most popular spot for a photo in Niseko.. Set against snowy streets with Mount Yōtei towering in the background, it offers a picturesque scene. Plus, there’s something undeniably special about the Lawson sign glowing beneath a blanket of snow at night. Trust us, you’ll understand when you see it!

Animal Sculptures in Niseko Village

Frank Woo’s animal sculptures have turned Niseko Village into an open-air gallery celebrating Hokkaido’s wildlife. While real Brown Bears hibernate, a friendly blue giant is ready for photos. You’ll also find Woo’s Red Fox near Niseko-Yo, a Long-tailed Tit on the beginner slopes and a Brown Bear on skis by the Village Express gondola. These sculptures are not just photo ops – they’re connected to Hokkaido’s folklore and natural beauty.

The Pink Bridge

If you’ve got a car to get around or headed on a road trip, the picturesque pink bridge offers a beautiful contrast to the snowy landscape. You’ll find it near Hirafu Train Station, East of Kabayama. It’s a favourite spot for tourists wanting to add a pop of colour to their winter photos. In snowy conditions, you can also snap the snow covered rocks that have a striking resemblance to mochi.
